Spectrum Foundation is a disabled-informed philanthropic funder that breaks the barriers faced by disabled people and their whānau. Our vision is simple:

An Aotearoa in which all disabled people have equal opportunity to live good lives.

We fund projects and initiatives that strengthen self-determination, equitable access, disability leadership, and connection for disabled people and their whānau.

Te Tiriti o Waitangi is a guiding framework for our work. It supports equity and strengthens whānau- and community-led approaches that enable better outcomes for Māori, tāngata whaikaha and their whānau.

So far, we’ve funded 66 projects and initiatives, investing more than $3.2m.

With decades of experience across the disability sector, we know there are gaps in terms of who and what receives funding. We’re working to fill these gaps, focusing on four key priorities: education, health and wellbeing, employment, and housing.

Spectrum Foundation is part of Spectrum Group, a charitable group of entities with a more than 30-year history, which includes disability support provider Spectrum Care and community housing provider Homes of Choice.
