Riding for Disabled Cambridge runs goals-based riding sessions for disabled tamariki. They provide interaction with horses to create transferrable skills that improve health and wellbeing outcomes in the lives of the people they support.

There’s something grounding about arriving at the centre, it hums with a gentle energy. A soft snort from the stables. Hooves trotting in the riding school. The sound of children out in the field with their horses, returning from their morning ride.

Support here goes far beyond the saddle.

Their programmes involve horsed-led activities that build confidence, regulation, communication, and independence in participants at their own pace. Whether it’s offering adaptive equipment or groundwork sessions for tamariki who aren’t yet ready to ride. The team meets each child where they’re at.

Our funding helped cover operational costs, so more tamariki can access the therapeutic benefits of horse riding.
