When day services (activities) for people with disabilities in Cambridge ceased in 2021, many people were left without regular social connection. Interlock Trust stepped up to fill that void. This rōpū holds organised activity sessions to connect and help people with disabilities.

“Our focus is ‘to work with, not do for’ our members.”

It is entirely up to the members how they choose to get involved. They can have a cuppa, craft, sew, construct, or they can read, play on their phones, or simply sit and connect with friends. Because not only is it a space members can develop their skills, but it’s also a space for community connection.

Spectrum Foundation’s funding went toward keeping those sessions running. Because building life skills and lifelong relationships isn’t just nice to have. It’s integral to a person’s mana.
