At Silver Noodle Soup Theatre Company, young disabled artists are taking their place in the arts.

Working with a core group of artists, tutors build confidence, teamwork and creative storytelling skills over time. Rehearsals bring tutors, actors and support workers together to create stories and music that share a distinctly disabled perspective with the world.

This year, Silver Noodle Soup reached a significant milestone with its first six-night season in Wellington, presenting The Old Cold Hearts Club at the Hannah Theatre.

The season was about more than putting on a show. It gave the company the opportunity to experience the discipline and resilience required to turn up ready to contribute and perform together, night after night. Two of its stars also gained wider recognition through coverage in the Wairarapa Times-Age.

Spectrum Foundation funding contributed to the company’s operational costs, helping Silver Noodle Soup continue creating and presenting disability-led theatre and film.
